Ashland County is comprised of two distinct watersheds, with the very northern part of the county draining into the central basin of Lake Erie and the majority of the county’s waters draining all the way to the Gulf of Mexico, via the Mohican, Walhonding, Muskigum, Ohio, and Mississippi Rivers. Some of our conservation programming is available throughout the county, and other programs are specific to certain watersheds. Many of our cost-share programs are funded through the Muskingum Watershed Conservancy District and are available only within their jurisdictional boundaries; a map of those boundaries is provided below.
