Education Programs

Educational needs have changed since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and Ashland SWCD’s educational programming has changed with it. Be sure to check out our #TeachMeTuesday videos to use in your classroom, as a remote learning tool, or in your homeschool or organization’s curriculum!

Ashland SWCD is the proud owner of the Hazel Willis Woods, a 40-acre land laboratory near Mifflin. We love to have groups, classes, scouts and more visit our woods and learn more about forestry, wildlife and conservation practices. Community service opportunities abound, from cleaning trails to conducting Eagle Scout projects.

Classroom Education Programs

Ashland SWCD has many educational and hands-on activities available for all age groups. The District is hoping to visit at least 10 classrooms before the end of the year. If you would like to schedule a classroom visit, please call Education & Outreach Assistant Ruth McCrea at 419-281-7645. Both in-person & virtual activities are available!
